Tarihe İz Bırakan Parfüm Şişeleri: The Royal Sun

Salvador Dali imzası taşıyan bu parfüm şişesi, 14.Louis ile ilişkisinden dolayı dolayı "The Royal Sun" (Kraliyet Güneşi) olarak biliniyor ve 2. Dünya Savaşı'nda İtilaf Devletlerinin zaferini kutlamak için tasarlanmış. Şişenin çevresindeki yaygın olarak martı zannedilen kırlangıçlar ise Fransa için umutlu bir geleceği sembolize ediyor. 1945'te yazılan el yazısı bir siparişe göre Baccarad'dan bu tasarımdan 2 bin şişe isteniyor ve Windsor düşesine bir adet hediye ediliyor. Düşes o kadar memnun oluyor ki, teşekkür notunda şişenin masasında dükün fotoğrafının yerini aldığını yazıyor.

This Salvador Dali perfume bottle popularly known as "The Royal Sun" due to its connection to Louis XIV (the "Sun King) was designed to celebrate the Allied victory in Europe in World War II. The symbolism of the swallows (commonly mistaken for seagulls) adorning the bottle symbolized an optimistic outlook for the future of France. According to a hand-written order which dates back to 1945, 2,000 bottles were requested from Baccarat, and it was the Duchess of Windsor who was one of the first to be gifted one. So much so that she wrote in appreciation that it took the place of the Duke's photograph on her desk.
